TIPS, TRICKS & TACTICSFinding Artifacts
In a Blitz game you have to prepare for looking for facts quickly. The best way to do this I find is to make a small 3 cell road and stick a barrack on it then build another 3 cell road coming of the sides and the top untill you get about 6-14 barraks. Set the barracks to producing 1or 2 count scouts at 100% training, as soon as they are finished highlight them all and press the move in formation button. Select an area and click they will automaticaly move over there and form the same shape that you barracks were in, keep repeating this process untill you are happy with the amount of space you have covered. Another way in Blitz games is road scouting make roads as long as you can North, S, E and W and if you want stick scouts on them. I dont like doing this because people may find your city too quickly. Or you can just keep with a normal scout line or you can combine the methods. You can also use these methods in normal games. In free games if you click on the artifact screen in the currant game and click on an artifact you will see a picture of were the fact is (this doesnt work in cit games or blitz) if the picture has a feature that sticks out, like a marsh sourounded by trees, it maybe a good idea to have a quick scan on the map. If you wish to the easiest way is to press Ctrl+G to turn off the grid lines and Ctrl+W to turn off fog of war. Then press the page up button to get a better view (higher so you see more). To return to normal mode, just press Ctrl+G and Ctrl+W again and page down. Thanks to TheDonn, Donahue, Mr.nice guy and Og the dark for showing me a couple of artifact tricks too.
